WENZEL acquires Xspect Solution
WENZEL’s global expansion strategy continues with the acquisition of Xspect Solutions, USA.
WIESTHAL/WIXOM, MICHIGAN, USA, March 1st, 2007. -
The measuring specialist, WENZEL Group GmbH & Co. KG, has acquired Xspect Solutions, Inc of Wixom, Michigan, USA. Xspect Solutions has been the excusive distributor of WENZEL coordinate measuring machines in North America since its establishment in 2002.
Xspect achieved annual sales exceeding 15 million US Dollars in 2006 with 30 employees. WENZEL set the course for its future expansion strategy with the acquisition of Xspect Solutions. “The acquisition of Xspect is an important milestone for WENZEL's growth strategy and is a clear commitment to global expansion” according to Dr. Heike Wenzel-Däfler, Managing Director of the Wenzel Group.
The imminent construction of a new assembly plant in Wixom is one of the next steps by WENZEL in the USA. With the acquisition of Xspect Solutions, WENZEL has not only obtained a successful company and distribution infrastructure, but also the worldwide distribution rights of the measuring software OpenDMIS, which is widely distributed, especially on the US market. WENZEL is expanding its existing software range with OpenDMIS, which is one of the market leaders with more than 10,000 licenses of the measuring software Metrosoft CM sold.
