5000th CMM

15.12.2006

5000th CMM of Wenzel delivered

The 5,000th coordinate measuring machine of the WENZEL Präzision GmbH in Wiesthal went to the manometer and thermometer manufacturer Kujawska Fabryka Manometrow “KFM” S.A. in Wloclawek, Poland. The Kujawska Fabryka Manometrow “KFM” S.A. is a subsidiary of the German specialist for pressure and temperature measuring technology WIKA, Alexander Wiegand GmbH & Co. KG. The official transfer of the machine took place on December 14, 2006 in the new measuring room of KFM.

“The sale of the 5,000th coordinate measuring machine is an important milestone in the company's history of Wenzel Präzision GmbH, which motivates us especially”, stresses Frank Wenzel, managing director at Wenzel, who traveled to Poland for the transfer of the machine. “We are especially happy that the machine goes to WIKA Alexander Wiegand gmbH & Co. KG, which is giving us their trust for the fifth time already with the purchase of this machine.”

The 5000th machine is a model LH65, full CNC CMM, which is equipped with a TP200 high precision electronic probe by Renishaw. The LH 65 delivers high-precision and reliable measuring results and features an extremely user-friendly operation. The base plate, traverse and spindle sleeve of all coordination measuring machines of the LH series are manufactured of granite, in which all axes have an identical thermal response. The granite used here is lapped by hand in the Wenzel parent plant in Wiesthal. The guide system of the Y axis is directly built into the base plate, as in all WENZEL coordinate measuring machines, while other manufacturer’s bolt or glue the guide beams on.

The coordinate measuring machines of this series have aerodynamic bearing guide elements in all axes, which guarantee a non-wearing and smooth operation. Bellows protect the guides of the X and Y axes from environmental effects.

Manometer and thermometer components will be measured with this new machine in the future, specifically rotating brass parts, molded plastic parts as well as stamped and drawn parts, which are subject to be used in the most stringent quality and accuracy requirements. The fact that quality is of the highest importance for KFM has been proven during the past year when it won the quality award of the Wojwodschaft Kujawsko-Pomorskie. They were already awarded as best company for establishing and implementing their Quality Management system.

WIKA Alexander Wiegand GmbH & Co. KG. has been using WENZEL CMMs daily for many years. Franz-Josef Vogel, technical director of KFM, views his decision for the new LH 65 as confirmed, specifically due to the quick availability as well as the excellent service by WENZEL. Setting up the Wenzel machines in various locations worldwide (including China and India) offers the possibility to the WIKA Group to measure parts at the same standards, which are then released for the combined worldwide production. KFM is serviced by ALFLETH Engineering as all WENZEL customers in Poland. ALFLETH offeres comprehensive services, such as the startup and calibration of delivered measuring machines as well as user training, in addition to the sales of coordinate measuring machines, measuring software and accessories. ALFLETH’s headquarters in Poland is located in Warsaw and another training and service center is located in Poznan.
